OPTOMAP Retinal Imaging

OPTOMAP® Retinal Imaging at Crystal Eye Centre

See More. Know More. Protect Your Vision.
OPTOMAP Retinal Imaging Crystal Palace is now included as part of all Private Eye Examinations at Crystal Eye Centre, alongside OCT. This advanced OPTOMAP eye scan provides a much wider view of the retina, helping our optometrist assess your eye health in greater detail.
Early detection of changes in the eye can help protect your vision and, in some cases, provide important clues about your wider health.
Together, OPTOMAP® and OCT allow our optometrist to examine your eyes in greater detail, providing complementary views of the back of the eye.

OPTOMAP Retinal Imaging

A More Complete View of Your Eye Health

An OPTOMAP® and OCT examination combines retinal imaging in Crystal Palace with detailed OCT scanning, giving your optometrist two complementary views of the back of your eyes.
OPTOMAP® provides a wide, panoramic view of the retina.
OCT provides a detailed, 3D view of the deeper retinal structures.
Together, these images give our optometrists a more comprehensive assessment of your eye health and can help identify and monitor changes associated with conditions including retinal disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal detachments.

Why Choose OPTOMAP® Retinal Imaging?

Many eye conditions can develop without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Regular retinal imaging allows your optometrist to look beyond the traditional eye chart and assess the health of the back of your eyes in greater detail.
Our retinal scan Crystal Palace service forms part of our enhanced approach to assessing and monitoring eye health, particularly as many changes can occur before you notice any symptoms.
The retina can also show changes associated with certain health conditions, including diabetes and hypertension. In some cases, retinal findings may provide an early indication that further medical investigation is needed.
OPTOMAP® uses ultra-widefield retinal imaging to capture a much wider view of the retina in a single image, providing additional information to help your optometrist assess and monitor your eye health.
Early detection can make a real difference to protecting your vision.
